My most important advise would be to be patient and don't give up. This is a long haul, and if you go into it with that mentality, you will be fine. You are in the right place my man

Dude you and I are on the same path. Just keep it real. The people i met on another site that led me here have helped me turn the corner. Im nowhere near my goal but i live a much cleaner healthier life while advancing just abit each day. Im gonna get there. Im determined not to give up. Just choose this day to take the steps necessary and tomorrow will take care of itself. Good luck

Thanks for the comments. I'm looking forward to starting this log. Would be nice to look back in a few years and see how much I've progressed. May post some pics but I only have a crappy phone camera. I'll think about it.
Anyway, time to hit the gym. I'll try and get my stats and stuff on here later tonight. |

Today = session 1. Doing the old Bosshogg routine but will maybe change to the newer one he posted here. My weights are not big but I'm working hard to improve. Eating as much as I can but struggling with the water intake.
Bench 65kg 9, 8, 7, 6 = 30. Managed to get the last rep because I really wanted it. Dips bodyweight only so far 9, 7, 6, 5 = 27. Not good enough, must improve next time Shoulder press 40kg 7, 7, 7, 6 = 27. Having trouble with this one. Clearly mentally wasn't right to get more from this. Squats 80kg 12, 10 = 22. Not good enough, must make 30 next time. |

Looks really good Screech. There is not a huge difference in what the program has evolved into today. I have basically just cut out any direct arm work in the back/arm day and have gotten a little more specific on how reverse and neutral grips fit into the equation. I have also stopped having people do 2 sets of 30 for their leg movement, its mentally just too much and catches up with you pretty fast. We are now doing 2 sets of 20.
As far as the water and food...........there is generally an acclimation period of ''about'' 2 weeks where your going to feel like a bloated whale from eating and drinking so much. After your body has adapted to this new change your metabolism will kick into high gear and you will be able to phyically process all the extra nutrients being consumed. Dont you ever worry about how much weight you start out with, that makes no difference. Its what you end up with in 3 to 5 years that will determine what size Monster Crusher you wish to become.

Cheers Boss. I'm sitting here in the office gulping water and eating nuts. I'll get used to it. Calculated that I'm at about 2500-3000 calories so far for the day and still have a protein shake with oats, dinner and night time snack to get through. This eating thing could get expensive
![]() I can't deny that I'm happy to hear you reduced the squats to 20 reps. I think that was the barrier for me today, I should have made the 30 but I just lost focus. Doesn't happen often but it's been a long crappy week at work. On sunday I'll be doing the pull routine. I actually had a question for you about this. Again I'm doing the old routine which I do like. I do chins, bent rows, low cable rows and machine rows. However the main issue is the cable rows, the stack at my gym only goes up to about 47kg and I pull that for well over 40 reps. What could I change that for and still be effective in the routine? Freeweights are best I guess although the back machine does have a neutral grip I guess I could use. That machine goes to about 100kg and would keep me busy for some months. Anyway, thanks for the input
